Inspired by his two amazing daughters, Hasani Claxton writes Middle Grade Fantasy filled with Black Girl Magic, Caribbean folklore, and African mythology. His writing credits include a chapter in the anthology, The Antiracist Kitchen, (Orca Books, 2023) which won multiple accolades including the Children’s Book Council 2024 Librarians Favorite and Teachers  Favorite Awards and the Ontario Library Association's "Top 10 Best Bets" list. In 2020 I was selected for the Highlights Foundation-Brown Bookshelf’s inaugural Amplify Black Stories program, and in 2022 I received an Individual Artist Award in Literary Arts from the Maryland State Arts Council.
